Are You Building a Life That Will Stand—or One That Will Crumble?
AND, an invitation to our April Reset!
When the storms of life come—and they always do—what is holding you steady?
Are you standing on shifting sand, relying on things that won’t hold up when the pressure comes? Or are you building on solid rock—the truth that cannot be shaken?
Jesus gives us a clear picture of this in Matthew 7:24-27:
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
We all build our lives on something. Our careers, relationships, health, or even our own strength. And while those things matter, they were never meant to be the foundation. Because when the storms of life come—when health fails, when relationships change, when plans fall apart—only one foundation remains firm: God’s truth.
Note: the outside beauty of the house (or how you look in a bikini!) didn’t matter when it came to how the storm affected it. What mattered was what it was built on. Storms reveal foundations. Beautiful *homes* can be blown away if the foundation is built on sand (or a number on the scale).
Your Health and Your Foundation
Just like a house needs a strong foundation to stand, your body needs a solid foundation to thrive.
If we neglect our health—living on stress, processed food, and exhaustion—we are building on shifting sand. Eventually, cracks will show. Fatigue sets in, anxiety builds, illness creeps up, and the things we once powered through start to wear us down.
But when we honor our minds & bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), nourishing them with real food, movement, rest, and peace, we are strengthening our foundation. We are equipping ourselves to withstand the storms—physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Because the truth is, health isn’t about looking a certain way. It’s about having the strength to live the life God is calling you to live.
The Strength of a Solid Foundation
Choosing to build your life—and your health—on faith, truth, and peace is how you create the life you truly want.
A life that isn’t thrown off course by hardship.
A life that doesn’t just survive the storm—but comes out stronger on the other side.
Your foundation determines your future. So lay it well, strengthen it daily, and trust that no matter what comes, you are built to stand.
Because creating the life you want isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about building a foundation that allows you to thrive. It’s about living with purpose, confidence, and unwavering faith in who God made you to be.
And when that foundation is strong?
You won’t just survive life’s storms—you’ll rise above them.
